Happy New Year crossed 100 crores


        Shah Rukh Khan's Diwali release Happy New Year seems to have joined the fastest 100 crore movies of Bollywood. According to a report, HNY collected approximately Rs 82.67 crore till early Saturday. And according to a Red Chillies press note, the film has managed to touch the coveted 100 crore mark over the weekend, grossing Rs 108.86 cr, with a break up of Rs. 104.10 cr in Hindi, Rs. 2.92 cr in Telugu and Rs. 1.84 cr in Tamil. These impressive statistics might get the film a place in the league of recent big releases like Bang Bang and Kick.

Haider wins Award


        Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Haider' - a modern-day adaptation of 'Hamlet' - won the People's Choice Award in the Mondo Genere (world genre) at the ninth edition of Rome Film Festival. Made with Kashmir as its backdrop, the film was honoured at the fest, which concluded Saturday. The crime drama's stars Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor are overjoyed.
